Evamarie’s Bio:

Evamarie Pilipuf is an exercise physiologist and national-level fitness athlete with over 15 years’ experience in the field of fitness.  With specialties in low back health, core stabilization and muscle strengthening, Evamarie helps active adults take their fitness and sports performance to new heights through the transformative power of flexibility training.  Her innovative program designs, which feature a wide range of strategic stretching, targeted strength exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques, have made her one of the most sought-after fitness trainers in the Chicago area.  Among her happy clients and students are busy professionals who have alleviated low-back pain and stiffness, weekend warriors who have improved their golf game, recreational skiers who enjoy better endurance and mobility on the slopes than ever before, and runners whose previously tight muscles used to keep them in constant discomfort.  A dedicated runner, skier, and former professional dancer herself, Evamarie recognizes that you’re only as fit as you are flexible, but is quick to point out that there’s no reason why you should ever have to give up the activities you enjoy.  As she tells her clients, “You just need to add the missing pieces to your training routine.”

Fitness Certifications:  ACE (American Council on Exercise)

In Evamarie's words:

“All stories begin with a need that had to be fulfilled.  In my training and teaching, I was noticing a disturbing trend with my clients and students:  as they approached and crossed age 50, their mobility was deteriorating, in spite of their being extremely disciplined and active.  And much to my surprise, while traditional, "standard" stretching modalities – those positions we all recognize and have probably tried at least sometime in our life – helped a little, the effect wasn't as dramatic I was hoping for.  I soon realized that to affect real change, I would have to be more strategic and proactive in my design and administration of my clients’ programs.  The result was a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach to their flexibility and body alignment, one that pulled from all of the latest innovations and developments in low back conditioning, functional exercises, yoga, balance training, joint stabilization, and core strengthening.  We returned to some fundamental basics, my clients and I, assessing movement patterns that were actually contributing to their problems, and began rebuilding their bodies' alignment and range of motion from the ground up.    Some of my clients were reluctant at first – let’s face it, there isn’t as much satisfaction in slow, deliberate stretching or basic core stabilizing as there is in squeezing out that bonus bicep curl or sweating through a hundred crunches, but they trusted me enough to give it an earnest try.  And lo and behold, their openmindedness was rewarded.  We began to see results.  Huge results.  Changes in their comfort, changes in their mobility, and most of all, changes in their fitness and sports agility.  It seemed hard to believe that such seemingly small – yet carefully chosen – revisions to flexibility training could make such a tremendous difference, but the proof was hard to deny:  better golf swings, improved tennis games, skiing without the dread “day after” soreness, and the elimination of low back pain and/or discomfort.  More over, the improvements helped my clients get more out of their current fitness routine:  they could run for longer periods of time, lift heavier weights, go that extra mile and enjoy the improved strength and endurance as a result.  I knew I had made an extremely important discovery, one that I have been using ever since, with similar outcomes each time.”
